It had been six months since the day the Netherbrain had broken free and assaulted Baldur’s Gate. With its death all their tadpoles had withered and died as well, freeing them of their original personal stake in their quest. They had all largely gone their own way afterwards, either trying to return to their old lives or trying to figure out how best to forge new ones. They had each received an invitation from “Withers” – the name adopted by the odd monk they had encountered at the beginning of their adventure. It invited them to gather together for a reunion – to reconnect, to remember, and to see what new paths they had each found for themselves.
Before leaving for the party, Jasper had stopped to pay his respects to Gale. The city had commissioned a statue in his honor in Bloomridge Park. It had become a popular gathering spot for stray cats – and Jasper felt that Gale would have appreciated that development.

Withers had set up a fine banquet, with entertainment and all. And he welcomed them to mingle and reminisce.

Jaheira had roped Nine-Fingers Keene into becoming a Harper and rebuilding their network in Baldur’s Gate. And as promised, Minsc had founded his very own Berserker Lodge, dedicated to making True Heroes of the former Thieve’s Guild and other disaffected souls. Some of them weren’t so sure about his new lessons, but Nine-Fingers made sure they stayed an listened attentively. If she had to work with him, she was going to make damned sure *everyone* had to work with him.

With the Harpers in good hands, and Minsc having found a new and somewhat less suicidal purpose for himself, Jaheira finally felt able to let go and settle down. She returned to her home in the city – raising her remaining children and setting them loose upon the world every bit as cantankerous as she ever was.

Although Karlach had thought herself resigned to allowing her Infernal Heart to burn out, Wyll talked her out of it. After the others had helped him find a way out of his own infernal fate, he was not about to leave Karlach to face hers. And as Mizora technically now owed *him* a favor, he was determined to find a good use for it. He offered to travel with Karlach back to the Abyss, and there to help her find a way to upgrade/fix/replace her Heart with something which could last outside of the Hells. While she had been unable to resign herself to returning to the Hells alone, with a friend by her side – she could face anything.

Lae’zel had returned to the Astral Plane with Orpheus, Kithrak Voss, and the others to begin a rebellion against Vlaakith. It would be a long war, but she hoped that in the end her people could reclaim their fates from the false goddess, and find a new path for themselves. She was unable to attend in person due to the dangers of the conflict, but she sent an Astral Projection to give her regards.

Shadowheart had become a dedicated adventurer. She had devoted her life to rescuing others who had been deceived by Shar – helping them to escape her clutches and find their way to new paths.

And as for Jasper, had felt he had met his true calling early in their adventure. He had always used the wonders of Illusion to bring joy and improve lives. But he had seen too much of the likes of Fey hags using it for foul purposes, twisting people’s imaginations and fears against themselves. He had returned to Mayrina’s Anti-Hag Support Group, and had connected them with the rogue illithid Omeluum and his Society of Brilliance. Together they scoured the land for signs of Hags and other Dark Fey, rescuing those they could and turning the threats back upon themselves.

Author’s Notes:
I ultimately didn’t take *too many* liberties with BG3’s own Epilogue. Mostly I wanted to give Karlach a bit better sendoff. I had a number of issues with Astarion’s arc and sendoff, but since Jasper didn’t get along with him very well anyway I largely just left him out of the story altogether. In game we technically achieved his “good” ending.
